I was looking for something to read when I came across “The World That We Knew” by Alice Hoffman. The book tells a story of three girls running from the Nazis during World War 2. Normally I am not into the idea of mysticism, but the author successfully uses it as a vehicle to tell the story. It is well written and a solid read. 📚️ Review: Shadows in the Smoke

One word, meh! That is all I can really say about “Shadows in the Smoke” by Tony Broadbent. A post World War 2 crime novel based in London should be one that you don’t want to put down but I found it slow in way too many places. It’s fine if you just want something to read and have access to the book.
